Mercury Adjusters Inc. is a British Columbia based independent adjusting firm that has been offering a full range of multi-line adjusting services for a wide variety of Canadian and U.S. insurers since 1996.

Mercury’s mandate is to provide our clients with the highest quality adjusting services at a reasonable cost. To keep our team current with issues in the insurance industry, staff participate regularly in educational courses and belong to the Insurance Institute of B.C.

Paul Koivukoski B.A., F.C.I.P.
President
Paul started his career in insurance with a provincial insurer before eventually moving into independent adjusting. He is a past president of the British Columbia Insurance Adjusters Association.
Paul spent 7 years working as a manager for a corporate training company in Tokyo prior to returning to Vancouver and starting Mercury. While living in Tokyo, Paul was frequently called upon to assist North American insurers with claims being put forward by Japanese nationals. Paul is extremely experienced in dealing with catastrophic injury, and complex liability claims, particularly when they are moving towards mediation or trial.
Outside of work he relaxes by playing drums in a local rock band and taking dance classes.
Susan Gillmore A.R.C.T., B.A., L.L.B.
Susan is a graduate of the University of British Columbia law school. She practiced personal injury law for both plaintiff and defence before starting a career in independent insurance adjusting.
Susan spent the last 8 years with the Vancouver firm Heslop & Company. She is very experienced in all claims aspects and specializes in witness interviews and statement taking: liability, bodily injury and wage loss investigations and collateral witness enquiries.
Away from work, Susan's activities include being the keyboard player in a local piano-vocal duo, running and her family.

Gary Campbell B.Comm., C.I.P.
Gary is a graduate of the University of British Columbia School of Commerce. Prior to deciding on the insurance business as a profession in 1987, Gary worked in sales in a variety of sectors. He obtained his C.I.P. in 2008.
Gary's experience includes 27 years with a provincial Crown Corporation dealing primarily with bodily injury claims. Gary changed careers to work as an independent insurance adjuster joining the Mercury team in February 2015 and is highly experienced in handling larger, complex claims.
Outside of work, Gary, a resident of Maple Ridge enjoys long walks along the dike trails and playing a round of golf or two.
Gordon Bauer B.Comm.
Gordon is a graduate of the University of British Columbia School of Commerce. Prior to embarking on a career in the insurance business in 1988, Gordon was the co-owner of two establishments in the food industry.
Gordon’s insurance experience includes over 28 years with a provincial insurer dealing primarily with bodily injury claims. For the past 10 years, Gordon has focused on catastrophic injury claims in a litigated setting. Gordon made a career change to join the Mercury team and work as an independent insurance adjuster in May 2017 and is very experienced in handling all aspects of high risk claims.
When not working, Gordon’s activities include skiing, cycling and weather permitting, enjoying the seaside and beach.
Taylor Hryb B.A. (Hons), C.I.P.
Taylor is a graduate of Queen’s University where he earned an honours degree in Political Studies. Prior to becoming an insurance professional, he worked in a variety of sectors including construction, hospitality, tourism and local government. He obtained his CIP in 2019.
Taylor is the newcomer to the Mercury team and was previously at a provincial insurer where he worked in represented bodily injury claims. He excelled in that role, routinely winning accolades for effectively leading cases through all stages of investigation, evaluation, case development and settlement.
When he’s not in the office or on the road, you can find Taylor with a fishing rod in his hand, a snowboard strapped to his feet, or a travel backpack on as he continues to explore the world.
